With gazillions of women active online, it’s a no-brainer: You need a Facebook business page.
Women are chatting with friends, sharing pics, and taking addictive quizzes in droves on Facebook. As an entrepreneur whose business reaches women, you can chat right alongside them to develop relationships and grow your business.
Two tips for using your Facebook business page:
Be yourself.
You probably have a personal profile on Facebook. You may chat with friends and post pics of your goofy dog or kid, right? You don’t put on airs when you’re on Facebook – you’re simply yourself.
Follow suit and be an authentic, transparent “you” on your Facebook business page. Think of it: 93% of our communication is through our body language. When we’re not physically present with someone, we have a slim 7% to convey who we are. Don’t squander the opportunity by hiding behind a high-flaunting front.
Be active.
Don’t start a Facebook page and let it languish. Instead, follow the lead of my client, Christina Mallet, boudoir photographer and owner of Katrinka’s Secret. When we started working together, I lit a fire under her (fully covered!) butt and told her to get more active online.
Is she ever. She’s blogging and posting images about photo shoots in her swanky Pioneer Square loft. But she’s doing more: She links her blog to her Facebook page. Now, every one who has “fanned” the Katrinka’s Secret Facebook page gets to see what this camera-wielding genius is doing.
The benefit? Christina gains credibility with every beautiful photo shoot she showcases. She drives traffic to her own blog. She stays visible to former clients, who are more likely to refer friends to her when they see her work regularly. And she’s gaining more and more fans, which will enhance the influence Facebook has on her bottom line.
