What I Learned from Seattle’s Coolest Entrepreneur

images-2Can you learn anything while sweating like a pig? Why, yes — yes, you can!

I hooked up with Melody Biringer of the CRAVE companies a while back. If you don’t know, CRAVE is a  collection businesses — CRAVEparty, CRAVEguides and CRAVEbusiness — that ace in blending chic entrepreneurs with stylish consumers.

Melody loves mixing meetings with movement, so we took a robust urban trek around Seattle’s Queen Anne hill while talking biz. What a way to rev up the blood and fuel the brainstorming!

She’s also a start-up junkie with serious smarts, so of course my ears were perked to pick up tips as we walked. Here’s what I learned:

1. Never stop learning. Melody actively seeks smart, savvy women from whom she can expand her knowledge. Do you take classes, attend seminars, read books and blogs, and hire consultants, so you can amp up your own business know-how?

2. Keep your focus. Melody’s letting go of one venture, so she can focus more fully on expanding CRAVE. What distractions can you release, freeing time and energy for greater success?

Do you have tips about business? Please share!

  • Thanks for posting, I really liked your most recent post. I think you should post more frequently, you clearly have natural ability for blogging!

  • Thanks for your encouragement. I’m constantly telling clients they MUST blog (said with a smile, of course!) and am now telling myself the same thing. I’m definitely amping up the writing here, so you can expect lots more.

Thanks for commenting. Comments more than anything else encourage bloggers to write. : )
